I’m Malte Körte – a designer living, working, and exploring just outside Hamburg. For the past 8 years, I’ve been designing everything from brand identities to apps, prototyping, and product management.
I create digital products and experiences that feel simple, human, and sharp. Along the way, I’ve helped brands like Sparkasse, Pleo, Nothing, Dash0, Kontist, and guided early-stage startups from bold ideas to working products. At Studio Lenzing, I’ve spent the last six years building and scaling a ten-person design team – a place where collaboration keeps pushing ideas further.

My 3 values
Empathy-Driven Leadership
For me, design is first and foremost about people. My background in social pedagogy taught me how to truly listen, understand different perspectives, and create environments where everyone can thrive. As a design lead, I use this empathy to bring teams together, build trust, and ensure that every voice adds value to the process. This mindset not only shapes how I lead but also how I design – with users, not just for them.
Bold Creativity
I believe great design doesn’t happen by playing it safe. It’s about daring to explore new ideas, challenging conventions, and taking calculated risks to push products further than expected. Over the years, I’ve learned that bold decisions – when rooted in strategy – can unlock entirely new opportunities. For me, creativity means moving forward with courage and an open mind.
Strategic Simplicity
Complexity is everywhere – in products, in organizations, in human behavior. My approach is to cut through the noise and uncover the essence of a challenge. I love transforming complex requirements into simple, intuitive solutions that just work. This balance of clarity and depth is what makes design powerful: it solves real problems while creating lasting impact for both users and businesses.
Always up for a chat
Let’s talk design your next project – or skip the work talk and dive into Figma shortcuts, music, or running. Either way, I’m just one message away.

When I’m not designing, I’m renovating an old house, spending time with my family and our dog, and keeping my mid-west emo music roots alive. Always chasing the perfect fruity filter coffee – and that elusive Figma shortcut I still haven’t cracked.

Server Logs
Like most websites, my hosting provider automatically logs some basic technical details (such as IP address, browser type, date and time of access). These logs are used only to keep the site running smoothly and are deleted after a short time.
Your Rights
You’ve got rights under data protection laws – including the right to know what data I hold about you, to request corrections or deletion, and to complain to a supervisory authority if you ever feel something’s off.
Keeping it Simple
I keep data use to the bare minimum, only for as long as needed :)
Simplifying processes for anti-money-laundering compliance
Anti-money laundering compliance is often weighed down by dense legal regulation. The challenge was to turn this into something approachable and effortless to use. I worked closely with Regpit to dive into the platform’s nuances and design an interface that balances depth and integrity with an elegant, efficient, and user-friendly experience for teams around the world.
From brand and product design to motion, systems, and development, we crafted every layer of the experience.
The core challenge was to make the tedious process of anti-money-laundering compliance more streamlined and approachable. I started with a deep analysis of the existing workflows, mapping out every step in detail. From there, I rethought the information architecture and user flows to simplify the experience and make complex tasks easier to navigate. The goal was clear: simplify, organize, and clarify — so that every critical action feels effortless to follow and execute.
Real estate development is still full of tedious manual work — from digging through ownership records to calling authorities and visiting sites in person. Syte set out to change that by bringing AI into the process. I helped design a tool that makes real estate analysis and development more efficient, sustainable, and effortless to use.
The project spanned prototyping, user interviews, persona creation, user journey mapping, brand narrative, tone of voice, positioning, UX strategy, UX & UI design, brand design, motion design, design system, dev documentation, and full design production.
As the leading bank in the DACH region, Sparkasse partnered with us to redesign their business online banking platform — reshaping how companies across Europe manage their finances.
Our work spanned prototyping, user interviews, persona creation, user journey mapping, UX strategy, UX & UI design, visual language, motion design, design system, dev documentation, and full design production.
We worked closely with Sparkasse’s UX department for over a year, diving into the specific needs of business banking users. From research and ideation to prototyping and testing, we refined and delivered a platform that gives businesses a modern, intuitive, and secure way to manage their finances online. This close collaboration meant the result didn’t just meet expectations – it set a new standard and strengthened Sparkasse’s leadership in digital banking.
In times of New Work, it’s no longer just about square meters – it’s about putting people at the center. Together with Workin’Up, the question was: how can the office itself answer today’s needs for freedom, sustainability, and independence? Especially after the lockdowns, the quality of office space has become more important than ever – creating places that enable encounters and support a healthy work-life blend.
The mission was to guide people to their dream office – fast, intuitive, and inspiring. A search and map logic was designed that doesn’t overwhelm but motivates. Instead of adding to the flood of information, the focus was on balance through good design and conscious technology.
Through an iterative process of strategy, research, and prototyping, a solution was built that not only works but delights. Alongside a clear search experience, a custom icon set was created to elevate the product from simply usable to truly enjoyable.
Medudy is transforming medical education by making knowledge accessible, human-centered, and powered by AI and interactive media in more than 50 languages. In close collaboration with leading medical experts, Medudy opens up high-quality knowledge to everyone in healthcare – from students and young specialists to seasoned professionals. By combining expertise with technology, it creates a learning experience that is personal, empathetic, and available to a global community.
The journey in this project encompassed not only the creative aspects of branding and design but also a deep dive into the intricacies of the medical sector's CME point system. The aim was to ensure the platform meets both the educational and regulatory needs of its users – delivering a holistic, compliant, and truly meaningful experience.

Why should banking be annoying when it could be stress-free? For many self-employed entrepreneurs, dealing with receipts and anticipating tax payments is a constant struggle. Kontist tackles this problem with empathy. As a fintech startup, the company disrupts traditional structures by promoting financial inclusion – offering a 100% digital service that makes banking, accounting, and tax advice simple, transparent, and customer-focused.
The project aimed to free the self-employed from the hurdles of traditional banking and instead empower them as business heroes – encapsulated in the message: Boost your business with Kontist. Through a website redesign, the innovation was translated into a digital experience that conveys clarity, accessibility, and trust, turning abstract promises into tangible value for Kontist’s users.
